20 Minutes Till Dawn update introduces controller support and offline functionality

The top-down survival Vampire Survivors-like 20 Minutes Till Dawn, which only launched a week or two ago, has already introduced a new update. This patch doesn’t bring any new content but instead focuses on addressing two of the primary complaints players had at launch.

The first problem this patch has fixed is controller support. At launch, there was no support for any sort of gamepad that you could hook up to your phone, which made the precise aiming that’s required in 20 Minutes Till Dawn difficult. As of this update, you can now hook up most controllers that are usually supported by phones and enjoy nearly complete gamepad support. You won’t be able to use it for every function, with the touchscreen required for a lot of the menu prompts, but otherwise, actually playing the game should work perfectly.

The second issue was the lack of offline support. Originally, 20 Minutes Till Dawn required an online check-in, so if you weren’t connected to the internet, you’d be booted off right away. This was upsetting, especially given that the only online function built into the game is a leaderboard, but now you’ll be able to enjoy it offline or online all the same. Of course, without that connection, leaderboards will be disabled for you.

20 Minutes Till Dawn has become a quick hit on mobile, which is pretty unsurprising given the recent wave of other games that have become successful off of the popularity of Vampire Survivors such as Survior.io or the Android-exclusive Magic Survival. Nonetheless, the unique mechanics of 20 Minutes Till Dawn specifically do offer a lot of engaging gameplay that requires quick thinking and pinpoint aim.

Along with the gothic anime style that the characters are drawn in and a pretty unique colour palette, there’s a lot to love within 20 Minutes Till Dawn. If you’d like to check it out yourself, you can purchase it for only $2.99 at either of the links below!
