World of Tanks Blitz celebrates 7th birthday with a new vehicle line, fun events, and more

World of Tanks Blitz turns seven years old this month, and Wargaming Group is celebrating it with some fun in-game events and other improvements in the 8.0 update. The patch is available now for iOS and Android devices.

The update introduces a new vehicle line to World of Tanks Blitz: the American Heavy line, which includes four Tier VII-X vehicles based on U.S. Army tank projects from the 1950s. The vehicles included in this range use experimental and sometimes outlandish designs, such as placing the engine inside the turret.

Meanwhile, the birthday celebration also brings a tank-themed amusement park called Blitzland, where you can visit the “Shooting Gallery” and “Strength-o-Meter” during the month to win the unique Tier V Pz. IV Gargoyle and Tier VII Kunze Panzer tanks.

The beloved Mad Games and Uprising modes have also made a return, and on 21st June the Souvenir Stall will be open for a week.

The graphics in World of Tanks Blitz have also received an update. They now look a bit flashier, where metallic surfaces look shinier and vehicles now get visibly wet when taking a dip in water. There are also some tweaks to gameplay to complement these improvements, such as realistic suspension behaviour and sticky mud and snow to affect how your vehicle moves across land.

You can download World of Tanks Blitz now from the iOS App Store and the Google Play for Android store, where it is a free to play title with in-app purchases.
