Wings of Heroes just took flight in a bold new direction. The latest update introduces a full-fledged Player vs Environment (PvE) mode, an entirely new way to play the high-stakes WWII dogfighter that’s built its reputation on skill and reflex-driven combat.
Known as Total Defence, Wings of Heroes’ new mode throws you and two AI wingmen into intense cooperative scenarios where the objective is simple. Protect your ground targets against wave after wave of enemy aircraft. Each wave gets tougher, introducing new threats like fast-moving fighters, durable bombers, and full-on boss encounters. Survive all ten waves, and you win.
Where PvP dogfights and Domination modes focus on speed and aim, Total Defence leans into tactical decision-making. You’ll need to juggle threats coming in from all angles and coordinate your counterattacks across multiple fronts. It’s a test of strategy as much as flight skill, and a big shift in how you approach each match.

Beyond PvE, the update also brings a wave of core system improvements. The new Plane Mastery system encourages you to dig deeper into the game’s aircraft roster. Master a plane and earn progress toward a black-and-gold Master Livery, an exclusive cosmetic that signals elite proficiency.
