LoL: Wild Rift Renekton Guide: Best build, items, runes

Renekton is a fairly simple champion, but he's a powerful one nonetheless. Even though The Butcher of Sands used to be a champion that not many people saw success with, after the introduction of "new" items (the ones we have currently) he was played more often and even in professional games!

In Wild Rift, Renekton is a pretty decent top laner that can see success and is able to carry games in 1v5 scenarios. That makes him a solid contender for top tier, even if he's not in the S+ tier all the time. It's also worth noting that he's an easy-to-learn champion and a fun one if you love hands-on battles and crocs!

Fun fact: He's the brother of Nasus, another Shuriman champion.

In our Wild Rift Renekton guide you'll find everything you need to know about the champion, from his skills and how to allocate them to his build, skill combo, and runes. This is what you will find in the Renekton  guide below:

Renekton skills

League of Legends: Wild Rift Renekton's skills

Reign of Anger (Passive)

Renekton's attacks generate Fury, which is increased when he is low on life. This Fury can empower his abilities with bonus effects.

Cull the Meek (Skill 1)

Renekton swings his blade, dealing moderate physical damage to all targets around him, and healing for a small portion of the damage dealt. If he has more than 50 Fury, his damage and heal are increased.

Ruthless Predator (Skill 2)

Renekton slashes his target twice, dealing moderate physical damage and a stun. If Renekton has more than 50 Fury, he slashes his target three times, dealing high physical damage, and stunning for longer.

Slice and Dice (Skill 3)

Renekton dashes, dealing damage to units along the way. Empowered, Renekton deals bonus damage and reduces the Armor of units hit.

Dominus (Skill 4 / Ultimate)

Renekton transforms into the Tyrant form, gaining bonus Health and dealing damage to enemies around him. While in this form, Renekton gains Fury periodically.

How to combo as Renekton in Wild Rift

Renekton has a couple of useful combos that help him trade in the laning phase and initiate team fights.

- Skill 3 -> Auto-attack -> Skill 2 -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attack -> Skill 3

This combo works perfectly if you want to dash in and out and trade with an opponent. You can make great use of this before level 5, and if you manage to get your enemy low on HP you might even be able to secure a kill.

- Skill 3 -> Auto-attack -> Skill 3

This combo is the most basic one, and it lets Renekton dive in and trade with the opponent and then dive out without any issues.

- Flash -> Skill 2 -> Auto-attack -> Skill 4 (Ultimate) -> Skill 3 -> Skill 1 -> Auto-attack -> Skill 3

This would be one of Renekton's all-in combos. You can probably win most 1v1 trades with this, since you can catch enemies by surprise and stun them, dealing quite a bit of damage in the process.

Keep in mind:

  • Being a Fighter and not a dedicated tank, Renekton works best if you go in and out, and perform short but to-the-point trades. You never have to commit to a kill unless you know you can get it.
  • By using his two casts on Skill 3, you can even tower dive enemies that are low HP, as long as you have a minion wave to dash back to.

In what order to level up the skills?

For Renekton, this is the order in which you want to level up the skills:

  • Level 1: Skill 1
  • Level 2: Skill 2
  • Level 3: Skill 3
  • Level 4: Skill 1
  • Level 5: Skill 4
  • Level 6: Skill 1
  • Level 7: Skill 1

Keep leveling Skill 1 until it's maxed, then focus on Skill 3, and lastly on Skill 2. Don't forget to keep adding 1 point into your Skill 4 (ultimate) whenever possible.

The best summoner spells for Renekton in Wild Rift

Ignite: Ignites target enemy champion, dealing 60-410 true damage (based on level) over 5 seconds and inflicting them with Grievous Wounds. (Grievous Wounds reduces healing effects by 50%).

Flash: Teleport a short distance forward or towards the aimed direction.

Wild Rift Renekton - The best build

Wild Rift Renekton best build - items Boots:  Quicksilver is a great option for Renekton to disable CC. Protobelt can also work for an additional dash. Stoneplate is the best choice if you need additional tankiness.

As for the main boots, I prefer the Gluttonous Greaves. However, because no two matches are the same, depending on what your enemies are building and what role you need to fulfill in your team, you can go for either Ninja Tabis or Mercury's Treads
