Volkswagen Touareg Challenge advergame initiates 3,500 test drives

In terms of multiple releases and total downloads, Volkswagen has to be one of the leading advertisers on the App Store. And its most recent project with longterm development partner Fishlabs has been racking up the numbers.

Volkswagen Touareg Challenge has been downloaded 1 million times in one and a weeks, reaching the top 10 in the free game charts in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA, Canada, France, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Russia, Poland, Japan, Korea, South Africa and Mexico.

Indeed, take up has been faster than the company's previous free game Volkswagen Polo Challenge, which registered approximately 500,000 downloads in a comparable time.

More than a game

Touareg Challenge has performed better in terms of effectiveness too.

It has an average playing time of eight minutes, more than 3,500 players have used the integrated function to arrange a test drive and more than 50,000 have used the integrated dealer search.

VW is particularly pleased that the average age of the players (according to the information they provided), is 35 - its ideal group in terms of their ability to purchase a Touareg.

"We are overwhelmed by the tremendous amount of time players are spending with Volkswagen Touareg Challenge," says Cornelia Lenz from the Volkswagen eGames team.

"But we are especially pleased that Touareg fans are eagerly using the dealer search and that the opportunity to arrange a test drive is doing so well."
