If you like your platformers to come with the visual beauty of, say, the recent Rayman games then Viking Mushroom is a game for you.

It's not expected to arrive on iOS and Android until 2016 but it's certainly worth following right this second.

See, the game's four-person team at Turkish studio Mobge Games is sharing lots of stunning art work during its development.

Just check this introduction to game's forest troll in the video below.

MobGe recently told Examiner that Viking Mushroom is an action platformer "all about Vikings and their lives."

The studio is trying to be faithful to Viking mythology and lifestyles. As such, runes and other items in the game are all pulled directly from historical sources.

The game also apparently has "unique" controls and new ways of telling a story, according to the studio. However, this preview of the storytelling looks a lot like an animated comic to me.

Not much is known about how Viking Mushroom will play specifically. However, this short clip shows that you'll be able to run freely, perform ground slams to find new areas, and confirms that there will be collectibles.

Oh, and to the mushrooms alluded to in the title. MobGe said that they will "mean a lot for the game." And in yet another short clip it's revealed that one type of mushroom will be an enemy and one that terrorizes sheep.

You can also see in some screenshots that the playable Viking holds a mushroom in his hand. Perhaps he eats them to gain powers? That's apparently what the Viking Berserkers did (although it's contended).

No matter what you do in the game, there's no denying it's beautifully animation promises a vibrant world that we can't wait to dive into.

Keep an eye on Viking Mushroom's Facebook page and Twitter account for further updates.
