Vampire Survivors is the latest mobile game to jump to tabletop
What, has the cost of cardboard gone down?

- Vampire Survivors is the latest hit mobile release to come to the tabletop world
- Take on hordes of enemies, gain experience, evolve weapons and enjoy the same frenetic gameplay
- Fast-paced 45-minute sessions combine with actual roguelike progression between sessions
Well, it's official. I think the universe is in on some kind of joke that I'm not part of. Because now, it's not just Clash of Clans and March of Empire showing a trend of mobile coming to tabletop. Of all things, Vampire Survivors is now set to hold a Kickstarter this autumn for a brand-new board game adaptation!
No, apparently this isn't some sort of out-of-season April Fools joke. Because Vampire Survivors really is becoming a board game with a fast-paced deck-building version of the hit bullet heaven. Boasting many of the same mechanics, translated to the table for a fast and frantic game night.
In Vampire Survivors: The Board Game, you'll be faced with encroaching hordes of monsters and have to slay your way through them. By building decks, you'll be able to make use of new weapons and evolve them into different forms. Split into 45-minute sessions, it comes complete with roguelike progression in between your battles!

Survival guide
I know, even I was sceptical when I heard about this. Vampire Survivors is, after all, known for its irreverent sense of humour. But it seems that even Poncle have seen the writing on the wall, although it certainly makes me wonder what's changed behind-the-scenes for tabletop to suddenly become the go-to avenue.Maybe it's something business-related? Maybe the price of cardboard and paper has just gone down? Either way, I think that when the Kickstarter for Vampire Survivors: The Board Game goes live, there'll be plenty of fans keeping an eye on it for their next stocking filler!
Speaking of tabletop, why not check out the inverse? That's right, board games that have come to mobile! We reviewed the recently released Kingdomino to see what this kingdom-building, competitive multiplayer experience has to offer for a demanding mobile player base.
