Medieval battler Valiant releases HTC Vive tech demo
A Valiant effort

The developer of medieval combat game Valiant has released a video showing how the tech will work on the HTC Vive.
When Offpeak games revealed last year, they said they were looking at the Oculus Rift, but now they're working with HTC's VR setup, allowing movement in the 3d space.
I spoke about my love for the Vive recently, and the motion controls and interactivity of the world was a large part of that, so the idea of charging around is exciting, even if it's very early.

The video above is a very early tech demo, but the possibilities it shows are exciting. In particular raising your shield arm to block arrows and the avalanche of arrows at the minute mark of the below video feels looks like an exciting movement.
Watch the above video, and as you see this tester using his full body to engage in faux medieval combat and send enemies sprawling with big full body movements.
Spare a thought for those of us living in cramped London bedrooms who aren't going to get the full benefit of VR motion controls, because videos like this show that it's really going to be the best part of VR.
Rift owners can download the demo on Oculus Share, but obviously you won't have any of the cool motion features.
