Trivial Pursuit gets bang up to date on mobile

In one of the more predictable mobile game news announcements, RealArcade is following its '80s-themed edition of Trivial Pursuit with, yes, a '90s-themed edition.

What does that mean? The company is promising questions on subjects as varied as grunge, dot com companies and Generation X (isn't that grunge? Or are we getting confused with slackers again?).

Hopefully the questions won't repeat the ones that were in Trivial Pursuit 20th Anniversary Edition, which included puzzlers from 1984 to 2004. Because that would be cheeky.

Gameplay-wise, it'll be the same as the other Trivial Pursuit games that RealArcade has released: crisp graphics, fast-paced action, and the nagging fear that in the 1990s, people used to play the board game against each other, not against their mobile phones.

But hang on. Like its predecessors, Trivial Pursuit '90s will let you play against flesh'n'blood friends by passing your handset round – your social life isn't dead after all.

The game is out next month.
