Trenches: Generals promoted from iPhone to iPad tonight, with new features and content

Thunder Game Works's iPad tower defence game Trenches: Generals has dug its way onto the New Zealand App Store and will be available worldwide tonight.

The tablet version of this clever strategy game boasts a host of new features, such as a fresh campaign, a perk system to customize the way you play, HD graphics, and a split-screen multiplayer mode.

In Trenches: Generals, players take control of a British infantry unit during WW1 and attempt to stave off a German charge using snipers, mortars, and machine guns.

Tracy awarded the original Trenches game on iPhone a creditable Pocket Gamer bronze statuette, noting that more depth, variety, and multiplayer were needed to collect the silver medal.

We'll have to see if Trenches: Generals has fully addressed these points when it goes on sale across the planet this evening for 59p / 99c / €0.79.
