German publisher HandyGames has signed a deal for Gamevil USA to release its Townsmen 4 game in the US.

It's the second distro deal for the franchise this week, with HandyGames having already announced that Glu Mobile will publish Townsmen 6 next year.

Strategy is still one of the sparser genres of mobile gaming, and given Townsmen 4's quality, it should find a decent audience across the Atlantic.

"The Townsmen are conquering the world – step by step," says HandyGames boss Christopher Kassulke, who says the publisher plans to take more of its games to the US in the near future.

The only question we have is whether the game – originally released in Europe in March 2007 – might feel a bit dated, especially with the Disney-published Townsmen 5 already out in the US.
