Lead a pack of ravenous chihuahuas through the deserted streets in Tokyo Jungle for PS Mobile

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Tokyo were transformed into a jungle, overrun with ferocious lions, dinosaurs, and small yappy dogs?

Well, wonder no more, my friend. That's because Tokyo Jungle is heading to PS Mobile.

Scheduled to land in North America and Japan next week, Tokyo Jungle isn't a straight port of the side-scrolling PS3 game, but rather a top-down, grid-based battler.

You can check out the first screenshots for the game in the gallery up there to the right. Oh, and we've embedded a screenshot below for your perusal, too.

In terms of gameplay, all we know is that there won't be a story mode in this PS Mobile version. They'll just be a survival mode, you see, which in the original game was about keeping your wee beasties alive for as long as possible.

The concept of the game is still delightfully ridiculous, though, and hopefully you'll still be able to set a pack of chihuahuas loose on some unsuspecting lions.

Tokyo Jungle will retail for $2.99 when it goes live on PS Mobile on July 10th. We suspect that'll be a special introductory price, mind, so, yeah, it will probably rise after a week or so.

We've no word yet on whether Tokyo Jungle will be released in the UK and Europe, by the way, but we'll keep you posted when we know more.
