The original developers will be finishing Telltale's The Walking Dead
Shambling to the finish line
Skybound, the media company of Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, are all set to take over Telltale’s The Walking Dead. The company had been in talks with Telltale for some time following the announcement of the studio’s closure before coming out today to make the announcement.
Episodes 3 and 4 have been understandably delayed, but they are currently in the works as of today, with many of the original members of the development team on board to finish the project. Skybound is also working on getting the previous seasons of The Walking Dead back in stores and available for purchase.
Telltale Games laid off all of its staff save for a small team working on Minecraft: Story Mode for Netflix. The Walking Dead, which was in its final season, was suddenly left up in the air, while hundreds of staff members suddenly lost their jobs, reportedly without severance.
