One of our jobs here at Pocket Gamer is to sieve through the hundreds of apps that hit the App Store and Google Play every single day, and unearth those glittering gems.

Lately, though, we've been giving you the chance to have YOUR say, too. Basically, we've been giving you the opportunity to tell us your favourite game from a shortlist of the week's best releases.

This week's votes have been counted (and recounted), and we have a winner: The Other Brothers.

The Other Brothers, as many of you will already know, is a Super Mario Bros-style platformer in which you take control of two 16-bit siblings called Joe and Jim.

Joe and Jim, much like Nintendo's Mario and Luigi, have to traverse levels filled with platforms, enemies, obstacles, and hazards in order to save a damsel in distress.

These stages are a mix of both classic and non-linear environments that house multiple pathways and routes to explore.

Not all good

You may all be loving The Other Brothers, but it didn't fair too well in our review room. In fact, it only managed to nab a shoddy 5/10.

This was mainly due to its controls, which reviewer Harry Slater described as "messy".

Developer Tobgame has listened to the criticism and has promised that a number of new control schemes will be added to the game in an update.

Fancy it? Grab The Other Brothers from the App Store for £1.49 / $1.99.
