Did you read our review of classic Super Mario Bros-style pixel-art platformer The Other Brothers?

We awarded it a disappointing 5/10, and commented that "a messy control system that you're constantly having to fight against means The Other Brothers is a pale imitation of the games it's trying to copy."

No more than a day after we published our review of the game, London-based studio Simian Squared announced that it would be adding a handful of new control setups to The Other Brothers in a forthcoming update.

That update is now live on the App Store.

As promised, this software patch contains several new control options (see screenshot above), including the ability to re-size and re-position the game's on-screen D-pad and action buttons.

Simian Squared has also added iCade support and iControlPad support to the mix, so you can use good old physical controls if the new touchscreen options still don't tickle your pickle.

You can grab The Other Brothers from the App Store for your iPhone and iPad right now for £1.49 / $1.99.
