The Baby In Yellow, the oddball quasi-horror puzzler, is set to release a big content update later this year

The ever-so-unique and oddball indie adventure game The Baby In Yellow is set to receive a significant content update come May of this year. This Lovecraftian babysitting simulator - and no, you did not read that wrong - will transport you out of the house and into a living nightmare of eldritch dreamscapes, all the while trying to avoid the titular Baby In Yellow.

So, this game’s a weird one, in case you couldn’t tell. The Baby In Yellow sees you take on the role of a babysitter within a nice suburban home, until you begin to realise that the baby you’re taking care of is possessed by forces not from this world. With the title being a reference to The King In Yellow, a prominent piece of Lovecraftian lore, it’s easy to see that this is quite the experience of a game.

But, for all of its oddities as a concept, The Baby In Yellow does manage to strike a weird balance between absurd and terrifying. And now, with The Black Cat update, you’ll get to experience even more of the game’s weird world when the house’s pet cat transports you to a variety of other worlds, wherein you must solve puzzles to discover The Baby’s true origins.

It won’t be all that simple, however, as this eldritch monster of a child will be hot on your trail the entire time, forcing you to work under a strict time limit that will keep you on your toes and test your logical abilities to their fullest as you work to discover exactly who or what this baby truly is.

If a weird Lovecraftian concept like this interests you, I highly recommend giving The Baby in Yellow a shot. With The Black Cat update coming May 26th, there’s never been a better time to start unravelling the wild lore of this strange little indie.
