The Amazing Spider-Man swings onto the Xperia Play

Can he swing from a web? Yes

The Amazing Spider-Man swings onto the Xperia Play

Although the Xperia Play version of Gameloft's The Amazing Spider-Man may not have swung onto the Google Play Store just yet, you can now pick it up directly from Gameloft's WAP store for just £3.

In this game, you control everyone's favourite neighbourhood Spider-Man, as he swings through the streets of New York, punches thugs in the face, and generally rights as many wrongs as you see fit.

While the iPad version of The Amazing Spider-Man received a shiny Silver Award on review last week, I can't help wondering whether the Xperia Play's physical controls will remove some of the little niggles I experienced with the iOS touchscreen version and propel the Xperia Play edition of the game to an even higher score.

Incidentally, if you decided to take advantage of the Gameloft Groupon deal we mentioned last week and you've still got some credits left to spend, you should be able to grab the game for a pound cheaper.

So, if you fancy leaping off some tall buildings and throwing some gunky web stuff into the faces of hardened criminals, power up the Xperia Play, head on over to the Gameloft WAP store, and download The Amazing Spider-Man.
