Superman/Batman: Heroes United reveals its secret mobile identity

It seems like forever ago since we heard about Superman and Batman joining forces for a Glu mobile game, but now we look back through the Pocket Gamer archives it seems we did peg it for a December release. And it's December, so it's about time we had some hot superhero news.

The game features some excellent, baroque-style visuals to really capture the darker side of superheroism that's so popular these days (none of that zap! ka-pow! nonsense, you'll be glad to hear) and draws in a host of characters from the DC universe to help Bruce and Clark save the world from total annihilation.

You can choose between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel for two different takes on the same game - flying and lasering as Superman, or swinging and ass kicking as Batman.

Glu has released some Superman/Batman: Heroes United screenshots (attached to this news item), a video (below) and even a demo to get us all in the mood for a bit of mobile DC Comics action.

2009 is shaping up to be a pretty great year for DC Comics, what?

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
