Super Mario Run tops the App Store charts in less than 24 hours

Yes, we're all Super Mario Run-crazy at the moment because it finally graced us with its presence. However it looks like we've been crazy enough to send it rocketing to the top of the charts.

Hours after the game's release on iOS yesterday, Super Mario Run received enough downloads to push it straight to the top of the App Store's 'Free Apps' chart. Though, that's hardly surprising.

In some areas Super Mario Run even made it to the number one spot on 'Top Grossing' charts on the iPhone, but I can't say I'm surprised. Setting us up with a free taste against its beautiful graphics and addictive gameplay, that's probably the easiest £7.99/$9.99 a few people have spent.

iPad has a little room to catch up in terms of grossing apps as it doesn't even check into the Top 100. Now all we've got to wait for is its Android release...whenever that'll be.
