Paint your own path in visually arresting PS Vita platfomer Sumioni: Demon Arts

Sony has confirmed on its PlayStation Blog that handsome PS Vita platformer Sumioni: Demon Arts is heading to North America this spring.

Developed by Acquire and published by Xseed Games, the game centres on the artistic exploits of a demon as he battles against feudal-themed enemies using magical ink.

By drawing on the Vita's touchscreen, you can paint new platforms and thereby avoid enemies and obstacles. Fresh ink is generated by rubbing the rear touchpad, meaning you'll be groping your new Vita from every conceivable angle if you want to succeed.

Mighty smite

You can also summon powerful gods to smite your enemies by drawing the correct rune on the screen.

Similar in look and concept to PlayStation 2 marvel Okami, Sumioni: Demon Arts features a delightful ink-daubed art style that looks great in motion, as the trailer below demonstrates.

A European release date hasn't been announced yet for Sumioni: Demon Arts, but we'll keep you posted if and when it is.
