iPhone brawler Street Fighter IV: Volt reduced to £2.99/$4.99, updated with 2 new characters and punishment for quitters

Capcom's arcade beat-'em-up Street Fighter IV: Volt has been updated with new content and slashed in price until August 8th.

The update adds two new playable characters - the young female Sakura and the Japanese tomboy Makoto.

Capcom is also cracking down on online quitters, and has implemented several punishments for those who choose to drop out of matches prematurely.

If you intentionally leave a match early, you'll now receive a defeat and a cut in BP points. If you're a frequent offender, the developer may even limit the number of online games that you can play.

Smack 'em silly

Street Fighter IV: Volt now features 19 fighters, including old favourites Ryu and Ken, and iOS debutants Balrog and Vega.

When you're bored of beating the stuffing out of computer-controlled opponents, you can battle your buddies over both Bluetooth and wi-fi.

Although the original Street Fighter IV iPhone outing received a Pocket Gamer Silver Award at review, this sequel only managed to muster a 6/10.

Still, you can pick it up from the App Store for £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99 until August 8th.
