Snowbreak Containment Zone, the new third person gacha shooter, opens up beta sign-ups ahead of the test planned to launch later this month

The upcoming 3D science fiction shooter RPG Snowbreak Containment Zone has officially opened up registration for its closed beta which will begin on May 30th and end on June 4th. This one’s sort of the new kid on the block, but presents a gameplay style that has not been seen in a lot of gachas before, so it’s certainly one to try to get your hands on early.

Snowbreak Containment Zone is, to put it in the simplest terms possible, a mix between something like Nikke and Punishing Gray Raven. It features a third-person shooter style of combat with fully rendered 3D graphics and an engaging cast of anime-styled characters, each bringing their own weapons into the snow-covered world that the game takes place within.

What makes this so interesting to me at least is that a third-person shooter gacha has basically never been seen before. While Nikke did bring the world of cover-based shooters commonly found on consoles and PC to our mobile devices, Snowbreak kicks it up a notch by making this a fully traversable third-person shooter, not relying on you sticking to cover, and instead allowing you to sprint and shoot your way through different environments against a ton of different enemies.

Story-wise, it’s something akin to a post-apocalyptic story, seeing you tackle the threat of the Titans. These primordial entities invaded the world long ago and forced it into an eternal winter, and now it’s up to you and the Yggradsil company - the group of different characters that you collect and send into battle as their leader.

As you progress through the game, you’ll uncover more and more history of the world and how this eternal freeze came to be, all the while shooting your way through hordes of robotic sci-fi enemies who are intent on destroying you much in the same way.

If that sounds interesting to you, you can currently sign up for that beta test here, and pre-register for the game at the official website linked above as well.
