Snake Core is a fresh, action-packed take on Snake

Developer OrangePixel has just announced its latest title:  Snake Core. This one's inspired by the classic game Snake, which I'm sure most of us have played in at least one of its many forms. You know you're taking a trip down memory lane when you think about the Nokia classic that helped to start the mobile gaming craze.

The concept for Snake Core is similar to the old game in that your "snake" will continue to grow the further you progress through a level. However, what makes this pretty neat is that you're recruiting soldiers and growing your units.

As your crew grows, you'll notice your whole line moves in a way that mirrors the movement of the snake in the classic game. Your soldiers will be taking out aliens and destroying bombs as you traverse different areas will your ever-evolving human snake.

Your goal is to hunt down and defeat the Alien Overlord who lies in wait for your arrival. Ironically, his nickname is "The End Boss". Fitting, right?

Not only can you grow your army, but you can also make your soldiers stronger as well. You'll be able to grab powerups which will give you and your squad a handy boost.

Soon, you'll be taking out aliens quicker than the speed of light. And who knows, you may just send the Alien Overlord into an early grave.

Outside the standard missions, there will many different game modes for you to play and enjoy. There are also different routes that you can take to get to The End Boss, hopefully keeping the action fresh for longer.

This is pretty cool, as it adds a bit of strategy to what already sounds like a promising title from OrangePixel. Choosing your unique approach while building your super army and dominating unlucky alien scum in the process should make for a fun time.

Snake Core doesn't have a concrete release date yet, but Pascal, the lone developer at OrangePixel says he is "VERY close" to getting the game onto mobile screens. Once released, it's expected to be available on iOS, Android, and PC.
