SimplePlanes lets you build, fly, crash, and share your very own plane designs

Off the back of SimplePhysics and SimpleRockets, Jundroo has now released SimplePlanes on iOS and Android.

The concept is simple enough. You construct planes by snapping wings, cockpits, and engines together. There are WW2 warbirds, civilian planes, and next-generation fighters.

But you can build much more due to the flexibility of the system. You can download models that people have built on SimplePlanes.com - on there you can find dragons and even space stations.

Anyway, once the building phase is over, you then get to test it out by flying it with full physics testing each one of your design decisions.

If you bump into something, you might lose a wing, or your steering might be affected in some other way. You can carry on flying but it might prove tricky, to say the least.

So, ideally, you need to be able to fly straight. And that will depend on your ability as well as your construction skills. It all comes together, hopefully.

But this isn't a game only about testing planes - that'd be boring after a while. Where SimplePlanes finds its longevity is in the Challenges.

These include trying to land on aircraft carriers, dodge surface-to-air missiles, and racing through canyons at high speeds.

You don't have to tackle with awkward touch controls either, as SimplePlanes has full support for gamepads and joysticks.

If you fancy giving it a go, you can purchase it for £1.49 / $1.99 on the App Store [buy], Google Play [buy], or the Amazon App Store [buy].
