Unlock Shovel Knight's rather brilliant Plague of Shadows expansion right now

Did you miss Shovel Knight's Plague of Shadows expansion coming out last week?
We didn't give it a mention on its release date. But, as it's so darn good, we thought we better. Y'know, just in case it slipped you by like an invisible plague, yet to creep up on you and ... okay, I'll stop.
Plague of Shadows should be free to anyone who has already bought Shovel Knight. So just make sure you update the game on your 3DS or PS Vita.
Oh, and by the way, you'll need to have completed the original game to unlock the new levels and playable Plague Knight. But there is a way around it.
As Nintendo Life has pointed out, if you go to the game's main menu and hold the attack button (Y on 3DS, Square on PS Vita) and then press Up, Up, Right, Down, Left, Left, and then let go of the attack button, you should unlock the new stuff.
Pretty neat, eh?
Oh, and if you're a big fan of Shovel Knight and especially its music then you may want to purchase the Plague of Shadows soundtrack.
The composer Jake "virt" Kaufman has put his glorious 8-bit tunes up on Bandcamp. So give it a listen and maybe throw some virtual coins his way.
