Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is getting a fancy Ultimate Edition

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero graced the Nintendo Switch just last summer, but the game’s now getting an Ultimate Edition, too. At least in Europe, that is.

PQube, the game’s publisher, revealed that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, is getting a physical repackage next month. The Ultimate Edition arrives on April 27 and comes bundled with the game’s official soundtrack and a full-color artbook. You’ll find some extra in-game goodies thrown into the mix as well.

If you haven’t played it yet, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is a lush 2D platformer full of color, wit, and well-hewn design. Playing as the titular hero, you’ll collect new abilities as you progress. Use your standard magical attacks, or gain the ability to transform yourself into mystical creatures to give you greater access to the world around you. It’s imaginative, good fun that will take you back to your childhood. We liked it so much we gave it a Silver Award.
