Rush Royale to launch in China after securing approval license

Rush Royale to launch in China after securing approval license
  • My.Games' Rush Royale is set to launch in China
  • This comes after a short turnaround, receiving an approval license
  • But Rush Royale could face stiff competition from a vibrant market

My.Games have managed to secure a release licence for their multiplayer tower defence, Rush Royale. This could mean that Chinese players will soon be able to get hands-on with this top release, in a pretty daring move for the developer. But it's not the first to make its way to China from My.Games by far.

First off, though, why do they need a licence? Well, in China, every developer, both domestic and international, requires one to launch their game. You may remember, if you're a reader of our sibling site PocketGamer.biz, that a freeze on these licences a while ago sent shockwaves through the Chinese gaming industry.

However, in the years since the freeze, things have thawed significantly, especially for international developers. And now My.Games, having already released War Robots and Huge Castle in China, are on track for their third successive launch in the country.

According to My.Games the Chinese version of Rush Royale will be published by local company iDreamSky, who'll be responsible for managing it in the country. It also seems their partnership managed to achieve a surprisingly brief turnaround for the licence, something sure to make the developer confident of success.

But, like many international developers My.Games is going to face stiff competition. You need only look as far as the recently released (internationally, that is) Mirren: Star Legend to see that high-quality titles are not in short supply in China. If Rush Royale proves to be a hit, though, it would be reaching a massive audience of dedicated mobile gamers.

And if you're planning to jump into (or back into) Rush Royale to enjoy some fast-paced multiplayer tower defence, why not try out some of our Rush Royale promo codes to nab some free rewards from our constantly updated list of everything floating around out there?
