Rolando 2 update goes live with 2.2.1 firmware support

An update now live on the App Store has expanded support for Rolando 2: Quest for the Golden Orchid to include firmware version 2.2.1, ngmoco has announced via Twitter.

Previously only playable to those iPhone and iPod Touch owners who upgraded to firmware 3.0, the game now supports handsets with the last version of the software 2.2.1.

Joining the new firmware support are other additions including Facebook and e-mail challenges. Level high scores can be sent as a challenge to any of your friends listed on Facebook. Alternately, you're able to e-mail anyone using the same system employed in Topple 2.

For those using 3.0 software, improvements have also been made to push notifications. ngmoco hasn't elaborated on what specific changes have been made, though it likely has something to do with optimisation.
