Reviver hits storefronts later this month, letting you remake history with one small change

  • Reviver, the narrative point-and-click adventure, now has an official release date
  • It'll hit storefronts on January 21st according to its iOS listing
  • Reviver sees you make tiny changes with big effects to reunite star-crossed lovers

It's one of those years where I think we'll have to repeat ourselves a bit! And that's because there's a whole lot of reworking and rearranging. Case in point: we now finally have a release date for the upcoming narrative, time-based point-and-click Reviver!

We've covered Reviver a few times over the last few months, first to announce its upcoming release and then to look at the listings it had finally received. Now it seems that developer CottonGame will just about keep the proposed winter release date, as Reviver is set to hit storefronts come January 21st.

Reviver is an interesting narrative romance that sees you taking on the role of two individuals, you'll witness the lives of two star-crossed lovers destined to not come together. By making tiny changes you'll witness the seismic effects your actions have in averting destiny and finally bringing them together as you see the world change to bring them together.

With a flap of a butterfly's wings

Now, I'm not under any impression that Reviver is going to be some seismic, groundbreaking piece of art that'll change mobile gaming. However, I do think it's very much worth a gander when it releases, as the idea is quite original and not something I feel I've really seen.

The idea of communicating the story of these two people solely via what you pick up, read and examine from their perspective in limited rooms is highly experimental, and I wouldn't be surprised if it puts some people off. But at the same time, if it does work, and is sufficiently evocative, I think it would resonate just as much if not more than some other more melodramatic entries in the genre.

Maybe it'll make it onto our list of the best mobile games of 2025 (so far)? You'll just have to wait and see!
