Rumour: Resident Evil: Degeneration-Damnation-Downfall 3D coming to Nintendo 3DS this year

Website Digital Spy has purportedly posted (and subsequently removed) an article on an all-new Resident Evil title for the Nintendo 3DS, which is tentatively named Resident Evil: Degeneration-Damnation-Downfall 3D.

Those of you familiar with the Resident Evil universe will instantly recognise two of the rumoured game's subtitles - Degeneration and Damnation - as they're references to two of Capcom's zombie-filled CGI movies.

These films will apparently be available to watch on the forthcoming game cartridge.

The third subtitle, Downfall, is said to be the new game's name. If this rumour turns out to be true, Resident Evil: Degeneration-Damnnation-Downfall 3D will take place between the events of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, and follow franchise favourite Claire Redfield as she witnesses the downfall of humanity.

Resident Evil Revelations was a pretty darn impressive title, so we're definitely open to more horror-filled Resi games for the 3DS.
