Pixelbite's zero gravity iOS racer Repulze has ventured off the App Store track to take its place on Google Play's starting grid.

Though clearly inspired by Studio Liverpool's WipEout series, the Reckless Getaway dev opted to give its futuristic racer an Ikaruga-esque twist.

You see, as well as blasting your enemies with hi-tech guns, you have to best your rivals in Repulze by mastering a speed-dependent polarity system.

Each of Repulze's tracks is chock-full of gates. Match your ship's polarity to the colour of these gates (green or red) before you pass through them, and you will gain momentum. Match three in a row, and you'll get a speed boost.

Unlike the original iOS edition of Repulze, this Google Play version boasts weapons from the get-go.

You'll also find 24 tracks to tackle, and seven hovercraft waiting to be taken for a ride.

Unfortunately, there's still no multiplayer mode in Repulze, meaning you'll have to rely on AI opponents and leaderboard support to keep you occupied.

You can download Repulze from Google Play for £1.99 / $2.99 right now.
