Just in time for the Red Bull X-Fighter event in London on August 22, publisher I-play and developer Xendex have released the iPhone and iPod touch version of their successful freestyle motocross game series.

It must be good as it's already sold 2.5 million units on mobile.

The basic idea in Red Bull X-Fighters is to make big air using tilt controls to balance your bike up the ramp, and then pull off gnarly tricks by tracing out different symbols on your touchscreen.

The details are 64 levels spread across eight different locations and arenas, and 20 stunts which can't be described as anything other than being "gravity-defying".

More importantly, the game looks great both in terms of the graphics and the animations. Of course, you also get replays of all your thrills and spills, and unlock more bikes and clothes as you progress through the game.

Red Bull X-Fighters is out now, priced $4.99, €3.99, £2.99. Hit the 'Buy It!' button to go direct to the App Store.
