Real Racing 3 accidentally updated in the US with online multiplayer and two new Lamborghinis
False start
Firemonkeys has accidentally updated the Gold Award-winning Real Racing 3 in North America and Japan with online multiplayer and a couple of new cars.
Yep, as is written in this post, the update went live earlier than it was supposed to.
Firemonkeys recommends not updating the game if you're competing in the Speedrush TV Challenge as it will cause it to end early.
If you've already completed the Challenge then you'll be unaffected if you choose to update the game.
With that said, let's get into what this update contains, then.
The new cross-platform multiplayer mode supports up to eight players in a single race. There should be plenty of argy-bargy, then.
Firemonkeys describes the online multiplayer as "real-time racing with drafting".
You can compete in multiple leagues for different classes of car and attempt to reach the top of the online leaderboards. You'll need some mettle for that, mind.
As to the new cars, they're Lamborghinis. You can unlock the Lamborghini Countach by earning eight trophies in the new Clash of the Classics series.
The Lamborghini Miura is unlocked by winning yourself 20 of those trophies, capiche?
Also added in this update are enhanced race replays, a new Racing School that offers a free BMW Z4 sDrive35is, and a redesigned main menu.
Hopefully, this update will go live worldwide soon enough. We'll update this story when it does.
You can download Real Racing 3 from the App Store [download] and Google Play [download] for free.
