This trailer for Puzzle & Dragons Z is completely Poké-tastic
Highlighting its RPG elements
GungHo Online released a trailer that shows what you can expect from the upcoming 3DS release of Puzzle & Dragons Z.
The short version is 'Pokemon with puzzles' but that falls far short of capturing the spirit of the hybrid RPG, which takes Puzzle & Dragons’ addictive, match-three style of gameplay and mixes in boatloads of monsters for you to collect whilst adventuring in the wilds.
Ok, so it's pretty much exactly 'Pokemon with puzzles' - but it's looking pretty sharp so far.
Puzzle & Dragons Z is set for a release of December 12 in Japan, and will be released in North America at a later, unspecified date.
Unlike the massively successful mobile version, Puzzle & Dragons Z will not have free-to-play mechanics like stamina-replenishing Magic Stones, and will also feature a coherent storyline for players to discover.
At the end of the trailer, you'll also see that 3DS pre-orders are eligible for a free stylus. That's not the best pre-order incentive we've seen this week, but it'd be nice if it made its way stateside with the game itself.
