High scores = bragging rights

PurrbitPop offers fast-paced match-3 madness with a shapeshifting twist, out now on iOS
  • Slide and spin to match shapes
  • Grab boosts and collect Moons to spice up the stage
  • Reach that high score before time runs out

In case you missed it, theCommonist has launched PurrbitPop on iOS, a colourful new match-3 puzzler with a vibrant and fast-paced twist. While the genre often tasks you with stringing tiles together to clear them off a grid-based board, this one will have you sliding and spinning to match similar shapes across the galaxy.

In PurrbitPop, you can look forward to scoring points by building epic combos. It also seems like it's not just a matter of knowing which ones look similar - you'll also have to be on your toes as the Orbit paths shift, all to nab that high score and brag to your friends about it (as we all want to do).

You'll also need to collect Moons and grab boosts that help you along the way, with the ultimate goal of scoring as high as you possibly can before the timer runs out.

Now, if beating the clock is too much pressure for you, there's a mode to play without the timer so you can test out your tactics and learn new ways to string combos together at your own pace. You can also discover new Orbits as you progress, which will switch up your strategies as well.

If you're on the hunt for something similar though, why not take a look at our list of the best match-3 games to get your fill?

In the meantime, if you're eager to join in on all the fun, you can do so by checking it out on the App Store. It's free-to-play with in-app purchases.

You can also join the community of followers on the official PurrbitPop Vimeo page to stay updated on all the latest developments, or take a little peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the vibes and visuals.
