Set sail with Playmobil Pirates, coming to iOS and Android

The world of playful plastic pirates will be yours to explore on iOS and Android later this year, thanks to a recently announced partnership between Gameloft and Playmobil.

Playmobil Pirates is expected by the end of 2012 for smartphones and tablets, and will be free-to-play.

The lighthearted pirate adventure will allow players to build their own pirate camps and recruit crews while completing quests and mini-games featuring Playmobil toys and characters.

Prepare to be boarded!

Although details of the game are still emerging, fans of Playmobil toys can rest assured that the modeling in Playmobil Pirates will remain faithful to the iconic Playmobil pirate characters.

Gameloft is the first studio to develop a mobile game based on Playmobil’s immensely popular children's toys.

HMH Interactive released a similarly-titled Playmobil Pirates: Blackbeard's Treause for the Nintendo DS in 2008.
