Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage is coming to mobile later this year

Slated for a Q3 release

Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage is coming to mobile later this year
  • Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage takes you back to the high seas
  • Don new characters and classes, take on powerful enemies and build your deck
  • Enhanced turn-based combat and a new card evolution tree are all arriving Q3

Out of the most anticipated releases I covered last year, I have to admit that one of them was the upcoming Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. The original Pirates Outlaws was a stylish, swashbuckling roguelike deckbuilder that came out when the genre was still relatively fresh. And now its sequel is slated for a Q3 release this year!

This seaquel [sic] takes you back to New Elysia and sees you going on another swashbuckling journey across the ocean waves. Simply pick a character, class ability, and a starting deck and begin your voyage!

In Pirates Outlaws 2, you can pick from multiple characters with seven class options each, customise your deck and even recruit an animal companion that can further add to the strategic depth of your battles. With enhanced turn-based combat, a new card evolution tree and more, there are plenty of weapons at your disposal to conquer the sea!

Pirates Outlaws 2 definitely promises to be a much-expanded sequel, letting you roam back and forth across the map and offering even more permutations and possible combinations of cards and characters. For those lucky enough to also be on PC an upcoming Steam demo will be the first chance you get to put your greedy mitts on Pirates Outlaws 2!

My only concern is the animations shown in the reveal trailer, which seem a little bit static to me. Obviously, fully animating these illustrations is a hassle, but I'm hoping the final release will have a little more pop by way of effects when it hits mobile later this year.

In any case though, if you want to stay ahead of the curve why not keep Ahead of the Game as well? Start by checking out our regular weekly feature of the same name!
