1
Make use of wandering pirates

Corsair captains always have a lot on their plate in Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War, with alliances to maintain, ocean warfare to wage, and supernatural beings to defeat, so a helping hand every now and then doesn’t go amiss. Wandering pirates can offer this, if you use them effectively.

To maintain a powerful empire, you must build structures and upgrade them, and for that, you’ll need lots of booty. Wandering pirates can help with both of these things - if you drop them into the water, they will return to the shore with loot on their person, while placing them onto buildings that are being constructed or upgraded with expedite the completion, research and production.

2
Visit the Cave of Treasure and Shansa’s Cave regularly

There are no shortage of locations and tasks demanding your attention in Tides of War, but you should always make time to drop anchor at the Cave of Treasure. It’s important to activate your treasures there as soon as they become available, as this means you will instantly gain resources, reduce construction time for buildings, increase voyage speed, up your attack capabilities, and more.

Meanwhile, Shansa’s Cave is your port of call for unlocking iconic ships from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, such as the Black Pearl and the Silent Mary. Playing through the memories there will give you access to the vessels famously commanded by the likes of Jack Sparrow and Captain Salazar, and these legendary pirates can be equipped once you’ve added their ships to your fleet.

3
Head to the Lair after being plundered

Although Tides of War players get to live the high life as a pirate captain and build an empire that towers over the seven seas, you’re bound to find yourself on the wrong end of a plundering at some point. Luckily, there are steps you can take to get back on your feet when this happens.

First off, you should head to the Lair. A handful of your pirates will have taken shelter there after the enemy’s attack, so you can bring them back into your ranks and start the rebuilding process. Your booty horde will also have taken a hit, but heading over to the Crow’s Nest Inn and trying your hand at the Dice Game can help you recoup some of that loot, if you’re lucky, that is.

4
Target Merchant Ships and the East India Trading Company

Playing dice might be a good way to claw back some of your loot, but the best way to generate serious pieces of eight in Tides of War is by targeting the Merchant Ships and the East India Trading Company’s bases. This is where the big bucks are, though you should keep in mind that your shield will be down if you’ve just been plundered, leaving you wide open to attacks.

5
Join an alliance

While Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War offers plenty of content for players who like to sail solo, joining an alliance will help you get the most out of the game. By linking up with other pirate captains from around the world, you can plunder islands with the help of your fellow guild members, take part in special events, gain daily alliance gifts, and more. Happy pirating!
