Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War 6th-anniversary update adds a new tactician, events, minigame and more

It’s been exactly six years since JOYCITY launched its naval strategy game, Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War, and, thanks to the publisher’s continual efforts to furnish fans with fresh content, it’s still riding high on the tide of popularity. Since its release, players have been invited to survive the monsters of Cannibal Island, embrace the wrath of the Kraken, and set sail with Captains Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, and Armando Salazar. And now as part of its 6th-anniversary celebrations, you can embark on a brand new adventure under the guidance of the game’s latest Dark Talisman Tactician, Gunnar Nielson.

Naturally, the new Viking Tactician will come with a stunning ship to command in the form of The Hunter to the fray. On top of that, there will also be a bounty of in-game items available as part of an all-inclusive Attendance event and social events like the Gem Sweepstakes that’s currently underway on Facebook.

The anniversary update has also brought a few other extra opportunities for earning rewards via the new block matching minigame, Blockblast, and the long-awaited Battle Pass, which promises to reward those that participate with the Coral Reef Palace Territory Skin.

If you're a fan of the film series, or just a keen strategy game fan with a penchant for naval warfare, then you’ll find plenty to enjoy with Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War. You can download the game and join the 6th Anniversary festivities by downloading it for free from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
