PS Vita sales double in Japan during the Persona 4: Dancing All Night launch week

Can't compete with Fire Emblem Fates, though

PS Vita sales double in Japan during the Persona 4: Dancing All Night launch week

Well, look at that. With the launch of Persona 4: Dancing All Night on June 25th, the handheld console's sales doubled in Japan.

The PS Vita sold 23,119 units this past week compared to 11,153 in the previous week. It proves that, while the PS Vita seems to have been abandoned by Sony, it can still sell if the right games comes along.

That's pretty darn good. In fact, the PS Vita was the second best-selling system for that week, only behind Nintendo's 3DS XL by a couple hundred units.

The 3DS XL sold 23,305 this past week. And that was probably helped along a little by the launch of Fire Emblem Fates in Japan on June 25th. Although, saying that, the 3DS is consistently the top-selling console in Japan.

As of game sales, Persona 4: Dancing All Night sold 95,157 on PS Vita during its launch week, placing it second.

And, yes, coming out on top for game sales is Fire Emblem Fates: White Kingdom/Black Kingdom with 353,201 units sold on 3DS.
