Parachute Panic drops a million free and paid downloads
And v1.2 will come with added Scoreloop
One million is a figure worth sending a press release out about, so that's exactly what German developer FDG did when it realised Parachute Panic had been downloaded the magic number of times.
Other paid games to break the same barrier include Firemint's Flight Control and Freeverse's Flick Fishing, while Barclays' free ad game Waterslide Extreme has done two million downloads.
However in the case of Parachute Panic, the figure is spread between the 99c paid and the free Lite versions of the game.
FDG said it sold 100,000 copies of the game within two weeks of launch, but we'd be surprised if the split between paid and free is more than 20:80.
Anyhow, let's not be mean.
The game is still "selling thousands of paid copies per day" apparently, and has been the #1 Top paid app in four countries and #6 Top paid app in the US Apple App Store.
And to keep up the momentum, Parachute Panic v1.2 has been submitted to the App Store, and should be out soon.
This includes support for the Scoreloop social network platform which includes online high scores (split into easy and normal), buddy lists with direct friend invitation from contacts, email or Facebook, and live player challenges with push notification.
Changes to the game include enhanced music options, the option to win back lives, an upgrade so you have 10 permanent lives, a new bonus to collect fish, and the ability to accelerate movements with a double swipe.
Parachute Panic is out now, priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p. Hit the Buy It! button to go direct to the App Store.
