With over 4 million iPhone downloads as of December last year (so expect that number to be higher now), Parachute Panic could be said to have been the Doodle Jump of 2009, such was the level of its success on the App Store

Now the breakout hit is heading to Java mobiles, courtesy of Connect2Media.

Parachute Panic is a game in which (possibly) panicked parachutists dive from a plane above in the vain hope of landing on a boat.

The original touchscreen version involved drawing the wind and tapping the characters as they fell to ensure their parachutes opened, as well as tapping on UFOs before they abducted your happy stickmen into an evil alien experimentation chamber on the planet Zargon.

The mobile version is expected to land safely at the vague time of ‘later in 2010’, and we’ll be reviewing the game once it’s had a nice cup of tea and time to calm down.
