Z-Man Games has just confirmed a release date for the iPad version of its extremely popular boardgame Pandemic.

For those unfamiliar with this particular strategy boardgame, Pandemic is essentially a co-operative race against the clock.

Four diseases plague the world, so it's up to you to find the necessary cures before all of humankind is eradicated.

In line with Pandemic's co-operative nature, this upcoming iPad version will feature pass-and-play, allowing up to four players to play on one device.

It'll be interesting to see how the Pandemic experience translates to iOS, especially considering this is the first outing from Z-Man Games's newly established F2Z Digital Media label.

We're hoping that F2Z will consider updating Pandemic with two of its expansions, On the Brink and Into the Lab, if the main game finds an audience on iOS.

Pandemic for iPad is due to infect the world once again on October 3rd. If you've yet to sample ANY boardgames on iOS, by the way, why not check out our Top 5 boardgames for beginners list?
