Bandai Namco has soft-launched Pac-Man Bounce on the Canadian and Australian App Stores.

It's a free to play puzzle adventure in which you direct Pac-Man around single-screen levels to collect pellets, eat ghosts, and collect a key.

It differs from other games in the Pac-Man series as you don't directly control Pac-Man through the level. Instead, you need to launch him from the starting position in what you hope is the right direction.

Where the game gets its name from is how Pac-Man then bounces around the level when coming into contact with any arrow symbols or walls.

The idea, then, is to set-up a decent shot from the start so that Pac-Man heads out on the right path to the key. You also have to take into account any enemies bouncing around and look out for any bonus pick-ups on the way.

The game has over a hundred levels and tells the story of Pac-Mac trying to bounce back home through Snack Land (why you'd ever want to leave is beyond me).

Pac-Man Bounce will be out on iOS and Android worldwide later this year.
