SHIELD Android TV is NVIDIA’s recently launched next-gen entertainment platform.

Powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra X1 processor, SHIELD Android TV delivers the best in HD entertainment from gorgeous 4K video for services like Netflix and YouTube to visually stunning PC games that can be streamed via GeForce NOW like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

It also boasts a huge library of great Android games optimized for the Tegra X1-powered platform. Here is a look at several new games worth checking out on SHIELD.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch ($4.99)

Few games could make seemingly mundane tasks like mowing the lawn fun, but that’s exactly what Octodad: Dadliest Catch achieves in an all-new adventure that casts players as its tentacled protagonist.

Featuring hilariously over-the-top gameplay and physics, this sequel to the sleeper hit comes with more ridiculous puzzle platforming gameplay with bigger, more imaginative set pieces.

Dead Effect 2 (Free)

With more than 20 hours of undead monster-blasting gameplay and loads of upgradable weapons, armor and equipment, Dead Effect 2 is a new first-person horror shooter now available on SHIELD.

Dead Effect 2’s bleeding-edge visuals are also designed to shine on SHIELD with Tegra-enhanced graphical effects including per pixel lighting, reflection, refraction, dynamic lights and dynamic shadows.

Minecraft: Story Mode ($4.99)

From the award-winning development studio behind The Walking Dead games, Telltale Games's Minecraft: Story Mode is a new episodic story-driven tale set within Minecraft’s colorful block-based universe.

Featuring an engaging storyline where the player’s choices impact how events in the game unfold, Minecraft: Story Mode is a thoroughly entertaining new chapter in the Minecraft universe that is fit for the whole family to enjoy.

Contrast ($14.99)

Set in 1920s Paris, Contrast is a charming film noir inspired adventure that allows players to manipulate light and shadow in order to solve a variety of mind-bending puzzles.

As Dawn, the imaginary friend of a young girl named Didi, players are tasked with navigating from the real 3D world to a dreamlike 2D shadowland to solve puzzles set within visually stunning vaudevillian style set pieces.

X-Plane 10 (Free)

X-Plane 10 is an ultra-realistic flight simulator now available on NVIDIA SHIELD.

With a variety of game modes, combat missions, emergency scenarios and more, X-Plane 10 is the closest you can get to flying a plane from the safety and comfort of your own home.

Pix The Cat ($9.99)

In Pix the Cat, a vibrant homage to coin-op classics of the past, players assume the role of Pix, a feline who must guide a tail of ducklings to safety while trying not to collide with obstacles in her path.

The game becomes increasingly challenging as you progress and your tail of ducklings gets longer. Pix the Cat is fun for all ages and looks great on SHIELD with Tegra optimized visuals designed to run at the highest resolution with the best performance.

The Great Wobo Escape ($4.99)

In The Great Wobo Escape, players help a robot named Wobo in his escape from a mining colony while avoiding detection from the sinister Dieselpunk Robot overlords.

Featuring challenge-filled levels, The Great Wobo Escape looks great on SHIELD with specular highlights and gorgeous 1080p visuals.

CODEX: The Warrior (Free-to-Play)

Featuring gorgeously detailed visuals and combat, CODEX: The Warrior is an action-packed hack and slash adventure that puts players in control of a fearless warrior.

On top of its fast-paced combat and carnage, CODEX: The Warrior features a great deal of customization with upgradable skills, weapons, and armor for defeating its monstrous adversaries in battle.

Heckabomb ($3.99)

A blisteringly intense new twin-stick shooter, Heckabomb is one for fans of classic 80s arcade games.

A frenetic, colorful blast through space, Heckabomb puts you in control of a devastating doomsday weapon dubbed the Heckabomb, which allows you to obliterate enemy planets and their defenders in order to harvest their precious resources and materials to upgrade your ship.
