Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit out next week on Xperia Play

Sony Ericsson has told Pocket Gamer that the next ‘AAA’ release for the Xperia Play will be EA Mobile’s hit arcade racer Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit - an exclusive for Android.
Hot Pursuit pits cops against racers in a wide range of events across the varied landscape of Seacrest County. Each side of the law has its own range of offensive and defensive tricks to gain the upper hand during a race, including EMPs and calling in police helicopters to drop spike strips on the road.
The original iPhone release managed to secure a Pocket Gamer Bronze Award thanks to its intense racing and exciting range of events, although it was criticised for not allowing you to play as the racers (a feature that was subsequently added to the game in a free update).
We’re looking forward to seeing both whether the physical controls add to the experience and whether the racer campaign will come as standard when the game launches on Xperia Play next week.
