New screenshots and multiplayer details for N.O.V.A. 2
Five match types and full ranking system promised
If you weren't already satisfied by my hands-on with the single player campaign, then get your fill of new multiplayer details for Gameloft's shooter sequel N.O.V.A. 2.
Along with a handful of new screenshots (shown at the right), the French publisher told us what to expect of the game's revamped multiplayer.
A maximum of 10 players will be supported in 5 different match types: Free for All (i.e. deathmatch), Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Freeze Tag, and Instagib.
While we're not clear on the rules governing Instagib, it's great to see standby team-based modes like Capture the Flag in the mix.
Also pledged is a new ranking and perks system, similar to the addicting one employed in Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus.
What we don't know is how many maps will be provided. There are 6 environments in the single player campaign - Jungle, Desert, Factory, Ship, Frozen planet, Space city - so it seems likely that there will be 6 multiplayer maps.
N.O.V.A. 2 will be available for iPhone and iPod touch this December; pricing has yet to be announced.
