Gameloft's space marine crammed first-person shooter N.O.V.A. 2 has escaped the shackles of Xperia Play exclusivity, safely docking its ship in the Android Market space port.

Taking place six years after the escapades of the original N.O.V.A. outing, the game places you back in the shoes of space marine Kal Warden and drops you into the middle of a bloody civil war.

The game's story unravels over 12 chapters of hostile environments, which you can navigate with the help of dual hand guns, assault rifles, shotguns, frag grenades, motorbikes, giant mechs, and a whole host of other dangerous goodies.

When you've successfully brought peace the galaxy (let's see how long that lasts) you can also jump into a multiplayer match with nine other wannabe sharpshooters, either online or locally.

There are ten maps and several modes to compete in with ranking and perk systems rewarding you for your prowess.

Power-up your plasma rifle and grab N.O.V.A. 2 HD from the Android Market for £4.31/$6.99 of your human currency.
