In a world infested by shambling mutants and long obstacle-strewn highways, the man with the reinforced 4x4 is king.

Handily enough, that's exactly the situation you find yourself plunged into in Mutant Roadkill, Glu's latest Android and iOS endless-driver.

There are the usual genre tropes of sudden 90-degree corners to deal with, as well as a wide variety of rubbish left strewn across the apocalyptic road to try and avoid.

Only, unlike titles such as Temple Run, you also get to run over nasty creatures on your way to high score glory.

Keep on trucking

The most striking aspect of the game has to be the cel-shaded graphics, though, which give the potentially dour subject matter a bit more of a cartoonish feel.

Mutant Roadkill is out now on Android for free [download], and it will be heading over to iOS on Thursday when the App Store updates.

It is, as you have probably guessed, a freemium game, with money buying you extra power-ups as opposed to love.
