With the relaunch of Retro Bowl as NFL Retro Bowl '25, you'd be forgiven for thinking that today's Apple Arcade launches have already peaked. However, you'd be wrong, as critically acclaimed roguelike Monster Train is set to join the subscription gaming service's catalogue.
Set in Hell, you are tasked with guiding a train carrying the last gasp of hellfire in order to reignite the flames of the Underworld, after the forces of Heaven forcibly extinguished them. To do so you'll wield monsters, spells and more, using the unique abilities of a variety of devilish clans.
As you might have guessed, it's a deck builder and a good one too. We gave Monster Train a glowing review when we covered its release a couple of years ago, and with Monster Train now reaching Apple Arcade, we're confident it'll open up a whole new audience for this hellish train journey.
Given that many Apple Arcade games have either been exclusives or developed specifically for the platform, we're glad to see more titles taking the Netflix Games route and becoming available to a wider audience via the subscription platform. It allows these games to find a greater audience than they normally would on mobile, especially when they're quite niche in terms of appeal.
You can find Monster Train+ on Apple Arcade, where it comes packaged with the Last Divinity DLC which offers additional content and a new in-game clan.
